Facebook and Instagram are down?
Facebook and Instagram are down? Social media giant Meta’s platforms, including Instagram, Facebook Threads and Instagram down experiencing widespread outages on Tuesday morning.
Among the affected platforms, Facebook and Threads appear to be the hardest hit, with users reporting an inability to load either app as of 10 a.m. ET. Meanwhile, some Instagram users are facing issues with their feeds not refreshing, although others can still access the app. Many Facebook users are encountering difficulties logging in.
This disruption comes in the wake of a significant outage in 2021, during which Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp were inaccessible for over six hours. Meta, formerly known as Facebook, attributed that outage to “configuration changes on backbone routers.”
Meta spokesperson Andy Stone acknowledged the current issues, stating, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” in a post on the social media platform X.
On X, hashtags such as “#instagramdown” and “#facebookoutage” were trending, reflecting the widespread impact of the outages. Meta’s stock saw a decline of over 1% in response to the disruption.
